Congratulations to Shira Fishman, 2011 D.C. Teacher of the Year!
Before Shira Fishman joined DCTF in 2004, she was a mechanical engineer. Now, she is fulfilling her passion at McKinley Technology High School in northeast D.C., where as Chairperson of the math department, she has helped make McKinley one of the top-performing schools in the district. Shira was also one of just 40 teachers nationwide to win a prestigious Milken Educator Award in 2011. Learn More >
